McCoy Group Enters into Purchase Agreement for 501 Bell Street Office Building in Dubuque

McCoy Group, a national leader in the dealership and transportation industries with corporate headquarters in Dubuque, Iowa, has entered into a purchase agreement with leading global education company McGraw Hill for the office building at 501 Bell Street in Dubuque.  The purchase is expected to close by June 2023.

Pursuant to a lease that is part of the transaction, McGraw Hill will continue to occupy a significant space within the building while McCoy Group contemplates their expansion into the Port of Dubuque. “This is an exciting time for the McCoy Group. The 501 Bell Street building will provide a great long-term strategic value to our group. We will be evaluating whether this building becomes our corporate headquarters sometime in the future or potentially just a good long-term investment for us. The facility gives us the opportunity to continue to add jobs and grow long term in Dubuque which is our desire and goal,” said Greg McCoy, President and CEO of the McCoy Group.

Due diligence will be completed over the next 45-90 days and is conditional on state and local incentives. The McCoy Group will also continue to investigate opportunities at their current Southpark Ct. location.  “We are confident that we can work with both the City and the State to create a win-win for all parties in Dubuque,” says McCoy.

Both McCoy and McGraw Hill will work together to provide a seamless transition for all parties, including the other businesses currently leasing space at the location.

Driver approved: Foodliner a finalist for Best Fleets award

It is said that the top honors come from those who know you best. This is the situation Foodliner currently finds itself in after being named a finalist for an award recognizing the nation’s top fleets for which to drive.

Truckload Carriers Association and CarriersEdge recently notified Foodliner leaders that the organization has been selected as a finalist for the 2023 Best Fleets to Drive Forâ award.

Best Fleets honors are noteworthy as it’s a grassroots-driven contest. To be eligible, companies with 10 or more trucks, must be nominated by one of their company drivers or owner-operators. Following the nomination, companies are asked to complete a corporate questionnaire and be interviewed. The fleet’s drivers are then surveyed regarding their experiences with the company.

Overall, 95 fleets were selected as finalists for this year’s award. On Jan. 31, the field will be narrowed to the top-20, as well as five innovative Fleets to Watch will be announced. In March, winners in large and small carrier divisions will be named during the Truckload Carriers Association’s annual convention.

Following the data collection process, winners are determined after companies are scored based on their program offerings, driver satisfaction ratings, as well as on results from safety performance and driver-retention programs.

The Foodliner team is honored to be a finalist in just its second year participating in the nominating process.
